Passive Fire Protection and Tunnels
PFP Specialists’ Director John Dunk is co-author of a new paper released by the Hydrocarbon Passive Fire Protection Network (PFPNet) on the use of passive fire protection in the oil and gas industry and comparison the fire protection requirements in tunnels. Fires in road tunnels have had a devastating impact in a number of events in recent years, these fires are often very severe creating many difficulties for those carrying out fire and rescue activities.
John worked with co-authors Bart Hendrix of RWS and Micha de Jong of Efectis looking at the benefits of passive fire protection brings to the offshore oil and gas industry and how this relates to road tunnels which are considered to be critical infrastructure around the world.
